This apple cider margarita is the perfect fall cocktail. A traditional margarita with apple cider and a salted cinnamon sugar rim. It’s so delicious.
I love apple cider in cocktails. Last year I made this apple cider mojito that was oh so good. And a few years ago I made this warm bourbon apple cider cocktail that makes me want to curl up in front of a fire with a warm fuzzy blanket. I also made this apple cider tequila cocktail which was really tasty. Twice I made apple cider pumpkin shandy’s without even realizing I did that. Once with a salted caramel rim and the next time just with a cinnamon sugar rim.
So yes, to say I love apple cider in cocktails is kind of an understatement.
I also love and I mean LOVE a cocktail with a cinnamon sugar rim. It’s an absolute must when I drink pumpkin beer every fall and with a lot of fall cocktails.
I made a salt and sugar rim on this Italian margarita and it was so different and so good. So I thought why not a cinnamon sugar salted rim for this apple cider margarita and I’m telling you it’s fantastic.
Apple cider margarita
(serves 1)
2 ounces tequila
1 ounce triple sec
1/2 ounce lime juice
2 ounces apple cider
cinnamon, turbinado sugar (sometimes called sugar in the raw), sea salt or margarita salt
In a cocktail shaker with ice combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and apple cider. Shake well and pour into a cinnamon, sugar, and salt rimmed glass.
To rim the glass- combine 1 tablespoon margarita salt with 1 tablespoon of turbinado sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and pour onto a plate. Rub a lime wedge around the glass and dip onto the plate.
Enjoy!
