It’ oh so easy and oh so Fall and oh so good! Plus I hate to sound like a broken record but I just love any drink with cinnamon sugar around the rim.
So how about the sunflowers and pumpkins in this pic? We went to a local farm a few weeks ago where they had their annual fall festival. Pick your own pumpkins, apples, and sunflowers/wildflowers. Needless to say we did all 3 and a quick vodka tasting where everybody but me got carded (had to show ID- proof of age). Now granted my future sister-in-law and brother-in-law are in their late 20’s but still, I wasn’t to thrilled. But it was a fun day in the fresh air and sunshine and my son had a good time too.
So about this cocktail- it’s only 2 simple ingredients. 3 if you count the cinnamon sugar for the rim of the glass. 4 if you separate the cinnamon from the sugar but that’s just getting technical. You could really amp it up and dip your glass in caramel and then dip it in the cinnamon sugar. Heavenly! I may just do that next time.
Have I ever mentioned that pumpkin beer is my absolute favorite? Like get so excited when it comes out in August (like why though, it’s still summer) and I get so upset when I can no longer find it in October (when it’s pumpkin season). Kind of like trying to find a Halloween costume mid October and everything is already Christmas. Luckily some of the places around here still have pumpkin beer on stock so I may need to run out and stock up.
Apple cider pumpkin shandy
(serves 1)
6 oz apple cider
6 oz pumpkin beer
cinnamon sugar for the rim
Take an orange or lemon wedge and rub it around the rim of a tall glass. Dip the glass in cinnamon sugar mixture. Add apple cider and top with pumpkin beer.
It’s like Autumn in a glass!
