This is a refreshing cocktail that I love to serve in this pretty copper mug. Because moscow mules= copper mugs but they don’t have to. They are just as good in any glass or cup but I just simply love a copper mug.
The idea for this drink came from my bestest friend who just raved about it after having one at a local restaurant. They apparently have a moscow mule special every wednesday and apricot was the “special” that she tried and loved. I have yet to go to this restaurant even though it’s not even 5 minutes from my house and I’ve heard from multiple people that the food is really good. And they have really good cocktails and moscow mule specials. I know, what’s wrong with me right? Why haven’t I gone there yet?
So since I’ve never tasted the apricot moscow mule from that particular restaurant, I just came up with my own version. A moscow mule is made up of vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer. And then you can let the fun begin by adding all sorts of flavors by way of flavored alcohol or simple syrups. Like this limoncello moscow mule or this blackberry peach moscow mule or this strawberry rhubarb moscow mule. I also think the key to a good moscow mule is the ginger beer. I’ve had some not so great ginger beer that totally ruined my moscow mule. I need to find a good kind and then stick with it.
Apricot Moscow Mule
(serves 1)
2oz apricot brandy
1 oz vodka
3 oz ginger beer
1 lime, juiced
1 cup of ice
I like to make this drink by combining ice, brandy, vodka, and lime juice in a shaker. Give it a couple shakes and pour everything into your copper mug or glass and then top with ginger beer and a lime slice(optional).
