Blue Hawaiian

This delicious tropical cocktail blends together rum, pineapple juice, blue curacao, and coconut milk and is garnished with a maraschino cherry, pineapple wedge, and the cutest little cocktail umbrella.

This Blue Hawaiian is not to be confused with the Blue Hawaii. Did you know there were 2 very similarly named drinks with almost the same ingredients and if you skim the words too fast you don’t even realize they are different. Are you confused yet? The Blue Hawaiian has cream of coconut ( I used coconut milk) and the Blue Hawaii has sweet and sour mix. But both contain rum, blue curacao, and pineapple juice.

I chose the blue hawaiian cocktail because I had a lot of coconut milk left over and because how can you go wrong with rum, pineapple, and coconut. You just can’t. And I didn’t. It’s soooo good!

Blue Hawaiian

(serves 1)

2 oz light rum

1 1/2 oz blue curacao

2 oz pineapple juice

1 oz coconut milk

1/2 oz lemon juice

ice

maraschino cherry, pineapple wedge for garnish, optional

Place all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake really well. Pour into a highball or hurricane glass. Garnish with maraschino cherry and pineapple wedge. And a cute cocktail umbrella if you have one.
