bourbon butterscotch floats

Decisions, decisions, decisions…
bourbon butterscotch floats
I first tried this drink in milkshake form with regular vanilla ice cream. It was bomb. As in super, super good. I then wanted to try it with pecan ice cream. But I thought that I’m constantly making shakes. Either alcoholic or protein shakes. So I thought “Hey, why not try a float?”

Another decision was whether to go all out on the flavor combo and use ginger beer instead of ginger ale. Or just go over the top on the alcohol and use one of those new all the rage alcoholic sodas. Such as Not Your Father’s Ginger Ale. But I decided to just keep it simple and let the bourbon and butterscotch flavors shine with the subtle hint of pecan and ginger. It was the perfect choice!

And still yet another decision I had to make was whether I should post this drink on a Monday or Friday. You know, start your week off with a drink or have a treat for the weekend. I picked Monday(obviously) because every Monday should involve alcohol. Depressing start of the work week, blah the weekends over Mondays.

In a tall glass, place 2 small scoops of butter pecan ice cream. Add bourbon and butterscotch schnapps. Slowly pour in ginger ale. Give the drink a slight stir and top with more gingerale.

And still yet one more decision I had to make was whether to drink just one or both of these floats because Mikey wasn’t home and I had nobody to share it with. I know, poor me.
