This cool jazz cocktail is an interesting, tasty combination of wine, banana liqueur, and lime juice.
I found this cocktail in The Playboy Bartender’s guide. If you’ve followed along with my blog, you know that I have made a lot of drinks from this book. I saw this one and just could not imagine what it would taste like. So I knew i had to try it. My first thought was, “Oooo, that’s different!” It has a lot of citrus notes and the banana liqueur gives it a sweetness that rounds out the flavor. This would make a great cocktail if you would happen to have any leftover wine.
Ingredients for cool jazz cocktail
This cocktail uses just 3 simple ingredients-
Dry white wine
Banana liqueur
Lime juice
A banana slice is used for garnish
For the dry, white wine I used a Pinot Grigio. A pinot grigio is said to have notes of pear, peach, citrus, green apple, and honey. The banana liqueur has a sweet, smooth flavor. I like to use fresh lime juice but you can use bottled lime juice if needed.
Recipe
The recipe for this cocktail couldn’t be easier. Just add the wine, banana liqueur, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Garnishing with a banana slice is optional.
