Tequila, coffee liqueur, creme de cocoa, milk, and ice all combine for this delicious frozen cocktail. Topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings that send this drink over the top.
This recipe is from Playboy Bartender’s Guide just like last week’s cocktail. I changed this one up a bit and made it a frozen drink. I also added the whipped cream which is totally optional if you’re trying to save calories.
The name of the cocktail is mia vida which translates to “my life.” Also “my love, or my darling.” Actually the true way of saying it is “vida mia” or “vida mi.”
This frozen mia vida is so delicious that I could make this drink my life, my love every single day. Tequila is my favorite spirit. Coffee liqueur and creme de cocoa lend it a chocolatey, caramel, vanilla, deep rich flavor. Add in some milk or heavy cream plus ice and you have the perfect frozen beverage. Not to mention the whipped cream with chocolate shavings that just take it to a whole other level.
Frozen mia vida
(serves 1)
1 1/2 oz tequila
1 oz coffee liqueur
1 oz creme de cocoa
2 oz milk or heavy cream (I used original almond milk)
1 cup ice
whipped cream
semi sweet chocolate bar(or any chocolate bar) for shaving
In a blender, add first 5 ingredients. Blend until combined. Pour into a glass and add whipped cream to the top. Using a cheese grater, grate a piece of the chocolate bar over top of the whipped cream.
Enjoy!
