Ingredients for mini cheeseballs with cracker wedges
Cream cheese
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Worcestershire sauce
Green onions
Garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper
Pecans and walnuts- or any combination of nuts of your choosing
The sharp cheddar and worcestershire sauce bring a tangy, savory kick, while the green onion and seasonings round out the flavor.
The coating for the cheeseballs is versatile- add your own twist by rolling them in toasted sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, parsley, or even crushed pretzels.
These cheeseballs can be made ahead and stored in the fridge. Pull them out just before guests arrive and tuck the crackers into them.
They can also be paired with:
Fresh veggies like celery sticks and cherry tomatoes
A charcuterie board with cured meats, fruits, and olives.
Your favorite wine or a refreshing sparkling water with a citrus twist.
Recipe
Mini cheeseballs with cracker wedges
(makes approximately 24 depending on the size )
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1 green onion, chopped
Pinch of salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper
Crushed nuts such as pecans, walnuts, or almonds
- In a medium bowl, combine all of the ingredients except the nuts. Use a hand mixer or spatula to blend until smooth or well combined.
2. You can cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.
3. Once chilled, scoop out the mixture and roll it into a ball. I use a small cookie scoop or about 1 Tablespoon. Continue until all the mixture is used.
4. Roll the cheeseballs into the crushed nuts.
5. Gently wedge 2 small crackers into each cheeseball at an angle.
6. Arrange on a platter and serve.
Are these not just the cutest little things!
