A delicious, refreshing, and fun drink, this shark bite cocktail is meant to look like ocean water with drops of blood in it.

Ingredients for shark bite cocktail

The ingredients for this shark bite drink are pretty simple-

coconut rum

blue curacao- I used blue maui

pineapple juice

grenadine

I had to play around with the ratio of the ingredients to try and get that nice blue color. Then I had to act fast because grenadine is thick and it sinks to the bottom and starts to change the color to purple.

I had a different recipe for this same drink that used the same ingredients minus the grenadine. Additionally, the ratio of the ingredients was way different and it was just a splash of blue curacao so the drink was actually a greenish color. It tasted very good but I liked the idea of the recipe I used here. Mostly because it looks like blue ocean water with blood. Also, I wanted to use my kids shark toys in the pictures. And post this for shark week on TV.

The recipe couldn’t be simpler. First, combine 1.5 ounces each of coconut rum, blue curacao, and pineapple juice into a shaker with ice. Shake well. Secondly, pour into a glass-adding more ice if necessary. Thirdly, add a few drops of grenadine to the top of the drink.
