Looking to elevate your next party with a playful yet delicious cocktail? These sour patch shooters are the perfect mix of sweet, tangy, and boozy flavors. It’s adult trick or treating time!
These sour patch shooters are so much fun and while they use gelatin, they are not “jello” shots. You can make them into “jello” shots if you choose to. And obviously, you can choose whatever flavors you want. I chose orange, cherry, and lime. You could do blue raspberry or lemon to round out the colors of actual sour patch kids.
Ingredients for sour patch shooters
Flavored gelatin- pick your flavors. I used cherry, lime, and orange
Hot water
Vodka
Sour mix- homemade or bottled
lemon wedge
Box of sour patch kids- for garnish, optional
12 shot glasses (I found mine at Dollar Tree!!!)
Recipe
Sour patch shooters
(serves 12)
2 teaspoons each cherry, lime, orange gelatin (or flavors of your choice) plus more for garnish
3 Tablespoons hot water
6 ounces vodka
3 ounces sour mix
Lemon wedge
Sour patch kids for garnish, optional
To make the shooters, work in batches of 4 shot glasses per flavor.
- Spread gelatin powder on a plate. Run a lemon around the rim of the 4 shot glasses and dip into the gelatin.
- Combine 2 teaspoons of the same flavor of gelatin powder and 1 Tablespoon of hot water in a cocktail shaker. Stir to dissolve. Add the vodka, sour mix, and ice. Shake well, about 15 seconds.
- Strain into the 4 gelatin rimmed shot glasses. Garnish with a sour patch kid, optional.
- Repeat with the other 2 flavors.
These shooters are such a great party treat- playful, colorful, and packed with flavor! They’re sure to impress your guests with their perfect blend of sour and sweet.
Cheers to fun times and tasty drinks!
