I just love these wine glasses in the picture. They were given to me as a birthday gift from a dear friend/cousin-in-law. They’re hand painted and as you spin the glass around there’s 4 trees painted for the different seasons. They’re so cool! I couldn’t wait to use them and now I have to come up with a winter, spring, and summer wine drink/sangria so I can display each side.

This sangria is so good I drank the whole thing myself. Not in one sitting though! Goodness me! Maybe the Lisa before kids would’ve accidently on purpose drank the whole pitcher but the Lisa after a kid had to spread it out for a few days. Not that having a kid(s) doesn’t want to make you drink more. But you (I) just can’t risk having a hangover. Or being drunk around my kid. So yeah, even if you have no one to share your pitcher of sangria with, never fear. Make it for yourself and just sip on a glass or 2 for a few days.

Sparkling apple cider sangria

(serves 4-6)

1 bottle light red wine- I used Pinot Noir

1 bottle sparkling apple cider

1/4 cup apple brandy

2 medium apples, sliced

2 mandarins or 1 orange, sliced

1 lemon, sliced

1 cinnamon stick

Add the apple slices, orange slices, lemon slices, and cinnamon stick to the bottom of a large pitcher. Next add the red wine, and apple brandy. Give it a little stir. Chill in refrigerator. When ready to serve, pour in the sparkling apple cider and garnish with an apple slice.

Side note- I poured in the sparkling cider and added ice to my glass. I also kept it in the refrigerator with the cider in the pitcher. You just don’t get the fizzy effect. But it tastes just as good.
