The Walking Dead style. Yes you read that correctly. Tonight’s sunday suppers is brought to you by The Walking Dead. I had a finale party and all of our drinks and snacks were based on items from the TV show. Zombie brain shots and a Zombie frittata because you know, Walkers. We are also having apples, pickles, protein bars, chocolate pudding and orange crush soda to drink. All items either mentioned or found or eaten by characters on the show. The pickles Maggie supposedly ate in the last episode were canned pickles. I decided to fry my pickles. I’ve never had fried pickles before and my friend Elaine who turned 40 is obsessed with fried pickles right now. She couldn’t come to the party though because she is only on season 3. She’s binge watching her way through the seasons pretty quickly but I didn’t want to ruin it for her by letting her see tonight’s episode. And instead of eating the apples whole, a la Richonne, in the last episode(shag apple), I sliced the apples and dipped them in caramel sauce then dipped them into chopped chocolate and nuts. The orange crush via Denise(R.I.P) I added a little vanilla vodka to and made a “creamsicle” drink.
I had party favors for everyone to take home too! Daryl shot glasses!!! How awesome is that?
I’m really sorry if you don’t watch The Walking Dead and I ramble on incessantly about it but I can’t help it. I never ever thought I’d like a TV show about the zombie apocalypse but it’s totally addicting! If you don’t watch it, you should totally try it sometime. Binge watching style for sure.

Zombie brain shots
1/2oz peach schnapps
1/2oz irish cream
1/4oz blue curacao
1/4oz grenadine
In a shot glass pour in peach schnapps. Using the back of a spoon, slowly pour in irish cream. Slowly drip in blue curacao and grenadine. Let sit for a few minutes. The longer it sets, the more it looks like zombie brains but the grosser the texture of the shot. Literally like “brains” because the irish cream curdles. Disgusting but really neat to look at and it doesn’t taste bad either except for the whole “texture” thing.
So we watched The Walking Dead finale and the last 15 minutes or so me, my bestest, and my neighbor gf all sat huddled on the couch awaiting the ending and finally….there’s Negan!!!! And then there’s Lucille….and then Negan plays eenie, meenie, miney, moe…..and just like the internet told us…..A Fucking cliff hanger. We won’t know who was killed until October. It’s Bullshit. But we had a really fun time planning our party and getting together to watch the finale. We already promised to get together in October for the season 7 premiere. Wish I could just say fooey to the show for leaving us hanging but it’s an addiction. And then there’s always Daryl…And zombie brain shots…
If Daryl is the one who was killed, I will stop watching the show. Seriously.
