Tie me to the bedpost baby

No this is not an erotic blog post!! It’s the name of the shots I made us!

It’s perfect for your special Valentine! Or if you’re going to see the new Fifty Shades movie coming out. And if you don’t want to do them as shots, just pour it in a glass with ice and make it into a cocktail…It’s really tasty. Fruity but not too sweet. And really strong!

This drink reminds me of when I used to bartend every Friday night for like 5 years straight. There was a period of time where I would make a shaker or 2 or 3 of tie me to the bed post baby shots. There was a recently divorced middle aged man who would come into the club around 9:00pm. He would start the night off with either a beer or a martini. He would then commence to feed money into the jukebox pretty much all night long. He actually played some really good music and we would always say he should be a DJ. By about midnight when the club got into full swing and he was surrounded by all of his friends, some old and some new, he would summon me over and say “Hey Lis, how about a shaker of tie me to bedpost baby.” That’s when I knew the party was really going to get started…

He would pour out the shaker into as many shot glasses as he could get and just start passing them out to everyone. Always giving a little wiggle of his eyebrows and a wink when he told them what the name of the shots were.

The party and the shots would continue on until I would have to throw everyone out by 4am. Oh those were the days. I do not miss at all. HA.

Tie me to the bedpost baby
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz southern comfort
1/2 oz melon liquor
1/2 oz black raspberry liquor
1/2 oz sloe gin
1/2 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz pineapple juice
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake. Pour into shot glasses or into a glass with ice. Enjoy and get ready to party!
