Creamy, chocolatey, coffee flavored, with hints of vanilla and amaretto, this tiramisu martini is delicious and quite simply dessert in a glass.
I made the martini in these pictures but not the actual piece of tiramisu. The actual tiramisu came from a local Italian market that I visit about once a week because my kid is obsessed with their made fresh daily pepperoni rolls. He also likes their cookie monster cupcakes from the bakery which is where I always eye up this piece of tiramisu. So one day when I was making a list of drinks I wanted to make for this blog I saw a recipe in the book Joy of Mixology by Gary Regan for a tiramisu martini. It got my wheels spinning on how I could taste test my tiramisu martini with an actual piece of tiramisu. To say I was excited was an understatement. I now had an excuse to buy a piece of tiramisu! I was not disappointed. In the piece of tiramisu or my martini. They were both delicious! And my martini tasted just like the real tiramisu.
The recipe calls for shaved chocolate on top and I debated whether to switch it to a dusting of cocoa powder. I went with the shaved chocolate and I also added a little bit more amaretto to the recipe. I’m quite happy with the results.
Tiramisu martini
(serves 1)
1 ounce Godiva white chocolate liqueur
1 ounce vanilla vodka
1 ounce coffee liqueur
1 ounce amaretto
1/2 cream (I used original almond milk. You can use your milk or cream of choice)
chocolate shavings for garnish
In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine white chocolate liqueur, vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, amaretto, and cream(or milk). Shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Shave chocolate over top of martini.
To health, wealth, and happiness! Cheers!
