The warm notes of vanilla, the sweet tartness of pear juice, and the spicy, citrusy kick from the ginger beer and lime juice all combine for this delicious vanilla pear moscow mule.
I actually made this vanilla pear moscow mule a year ago but I didn’t like the photographs. I had some kind of weird pumpkin decoration in the background and since the flavor profile of this cocktail reminds me of fall, I decided to wait a whole year to re- take the photos and post the drink.
I’m glad I waited too because I used a different kind of ginger beer that I like so much better than the kinds I’ve used before. I prefer a milder, less spicier ginger beer. I used Stolichnaya ginger beer. I’ve used fever tree ginger beer in the past but I find it’s too spicy and overpowers the drink. You can use whatever kind of ginger beer you prefer of course.
Vanilla pear moscow mule
(serves 1)
2 ounces vanilla vodka
3 ounces pear juice
Half of a lime, juiced
ginger beer (amount varies depending on the size of your glass- I usually use 3-4 ounces)
Lime slice, optional
Pear slice, optional
Combine vanilla vodka, pear juice, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and pour into a copper mug or a rocks glass, Top with ginger beer and stir lightly. Garnish with a lime slice and pear slice, optional.
Enjoy!
If mules are some of your favorite kinds of cocktails to drink check out “mules” in my menu options for all the different kinds of mules I’ve made over the past few (many) years. One of my very favorites is this Limoncello moscow mule! I also love this strawberry rhubarb moscow mule in the springtime or anytime because it reminds me of my strawberry rhubarb pie that I used to make for Thanksgiving.
