just a few things I’ve been up to lately….

We did a little mini kitchen refresh. This is the before

This is the after. We had someone build us an island. They built the cabinet part and then we went to a place that had granite remnants and picked out a piece for the top. I felt very HGTV going to the factory to pick out a slab. We also installed handles on all of our cabinets.

CSA haul- tomatoes, apples, potatoes, acorn squash, green peppers, green beans, watermelon, and corn (that I gave to my sister)

Babysat this little cutie for 5 days

“Shave and a haircut, 2 bits” IYKYK

Gorgeous day for a bicycle built for 2

He’s practicing his smile for his school pictures

Then he came home after picture day and had to play picture day. He plays school with his grandma so it was their picture day also

Here are his classroom pictures. He found his old suit from 3 yrs ago and he made his grandma bring over a dress to change into

Ok so i read a lot of good books the past few months and I’m going to write a post about them and post it here. But I had to make specific mention of this particular book- The Last Time They Met by Anita Shreve because it just rocked me. Like one of those books that when you’re done you can’t stop thinking about it. Like I was devastated. I think I still am and it’s been about 2 weeks since I finished it. So it was so good and I really like Anita Shreve’s writing and have read a lot of her books over the years. But this book, omg the way it ended. What in the actual f*ck. I had to reread the ending 5 times. And I’m talking like the last page. Then I had to go back to the middle of the book and read a page there in case I missed something. (I didn’t). And then when I realized what happened I read the last few sentences several times. And then my mind exploded when I figured it out. And it’s not that it’s necessarily confusing, I just couldn’t accept that this was what the book was really about or that it was how it ended.
TV talk- AGT had the finale last night and we get to find out who won tonight. Jax and I watch about 15-20 minutes of the show every night before bed so we are heavily invested in who wins. He wants Jessica or Jourdan to win and I want Jessica or Chris to win.
Also in bad reality TV land- Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is back. They are my fave of all the housewives on Bravo. And 90 Day the Other Way is back on too. I’m also watching Sin City Rehab on HGTV because I liked her previous show Windy City Rehab and I like the designer Alison Victoria’s personal style.
And that’s it! Another wonderful week in the books.
Hope you have a great week ahead!
