Had to celebrate being able to find a small bowl worth of black raspberries in the tiny wood patch across the alley from my house. So I broke out a bottle of black raspberry merlot wine I made a few years ago.

I finished this book last week. I was so afraid of the ending but It was just perfect. The book is about a young boy in Lee County, Virginia during the opioid crisis. He grows up poor and has to go through the foster care system and then becomes a high school football star who gets injured and becomes addicted to pain pills. It’s heavy subjects all around-foster care, poor appalachian area, addiction. But the main character is so likeable and you just root for him the whole way through the book. And Barbara Kingsolver’s writing is some of the best there is out there. Definitely a 10/10 book or 5 stars or however you rate your books.

I feel as though I need to clarify something I wrote about in last weeks what up wednesdays post-

I also included the saying- “What you think of me is none of my business.”

I’ve been trying to work on myself for almost a little over a year now. More self love, gratitude, positivity, affirmations, manifestations, etc… So I wanted to start sharing some of the positive uplifting things that I read and this was one of them. I didn’t realize that in trying to share something like that, it requires an explanation. Not everybody is on the same path as me. This saying or affirmation struck a chord with me recently because I get in my head and instead of finding positivity, I go straight to negativity. My son is very extremely shy. Lately we have been going to all sorts of places to expose him to a lot of different things to help him overcome his shyness and just teach him some manners. Well, my whole life I have been “shy” or “quiet” and I’ve gotten better over the years. But a lot of time my shyness is mistaken for being a bitch. Lately, taking my shy son out has made me feel my shyness all over again. And then I think that people are thinking that I’m a bitch and my kid is weird and I get all uncomfortable and go negative. So I have to remind myself that I can’t let what other people think of me bother me and quite frankly, maybe they’re not even thinking that about me and I’m just all in my head. So work on not making assumptions and self love. Because if you love yourself first, you will only have love to share with others. And when you are positive and think only positive thoughts, you will only attract positivity.

So… to all of the 3 people that read my what up wednesdays post (btw, I’m manifesting thousands of readers) I hope I did a better job of explaining my self and maybe giving you a little inspiration and not just some kind of random cryptic message that didn’t make sense to anyone.. And thank you to the reader who pointed this out to me!

And that’s it! Another wonderful week in the books!

Hope you have a great week ahead!
