what up wednesdays

just a few things I’ve been up to lately…..

This past week has been all about getting ready for Jackson’s birthday party which is this coming weekend. And for his actual birthday which is tomorrow. How is my baby turning 6??? I’ve been so busy and we really didn’t do much over the weekend that I literally have hardly any pictures to share this week.

Foxy 2.0 is doing well so far. He hides from me but I catch him and try to hold him everyday so that he gets used to it.

My new favorite drink in my new favorite mug. The creamer is from Aldi and it’s so good!

Found these Martha books at Ollie’s for 4.99 each! Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE Martha Stewart and I have a collection of her books that I can add these to. Plus I really need the organizing book. If you saw my house, it’s like a toy explosion. I need help!

Elvira Kittypants is just the sweetest little cat you could ever meet. But she’s a little too interested in Foxy 2.0. Hope Foxy 2.0 isn’t the escape artist that Foxy 1.0 was or it could get ugly.

I finished The Reading List! It was really good! It’s about a mysterious reading list of some classic books that random people find and how it brings these people together at the local library. You get little stories about the lives of these people and how they’re all interconnected from this list of books and how the books touch their lives and give meaning to some of them. It’s an easy, enjoyable, maybe just a tad cheesy but in a good way. It’s a book that my Mom leant me and wanted back which means it’s really really good. I enjoyed the list itself and the characters talking about the “list” because I read some of the books on the list and now I want to read the ones I haven’t read.

This is the list-

To Kill a Mockingbird– I read in high school

Rebecca– My Mom’s all time favorite book, I also read and loved

The Kite Runner– I read and oh man was I slightly affected by it. Such a good book but just heartbreaking. I remember I read this book in Mexico and I couldn’t wait to hurry up and start another one so that I didn’t ruin my vacation thinking about it. But I would definitely recommend because the writing is great and the story just grabs you.

Life of Pi– never read it or watched the movie

Pride and Prejudice– surprisingly I never read this.

Little Women– surprisingly I don’t think I ever read this one either

Beloved- Never read

A Suitable Boy– never read this one but sounds like I might like it

This is my fall/winter reading list.

Tom Lake– I can’t wait to read this. It has so many good reviews and I really like Ann Patchett’s books. Her writing just flows and pulls you in.

Hang the Moon– This book got really good reviews and Me, my mom, and sister all really liked her book The Glass Castle

None of This is True- this book has many good reviews and although I’m not always in the mood for crime/mystery stories, I hear this one has lots of twists and turns that I sometimes really like.

Hello Beautiful– this is an Oprah book club pick and I have always loved Oprah book club picks. Especially back in the hey day of her book club. Sooo many favorites and this one looks really good.

The Poisonwood Bible– This is an older book but I just love Barbara Kingsolver books. Her writing is just so impeccable. She also wrote one of my favorites Demon Copperhead– which was also an Oprah book club pick.

And that’s it! another wonderful week in the books! This time I rambled about books instead of my kid HA! If you have any recommendations, leave them in the comments!

Hope you have a great week ahead!
