just a few things I’ve been up to lately….
It was finally a low key week…
We had donuts with grown ups at his school plus the Scholastic book fair
Chocolate icing, white icing, marshmallows, oreo pieces, and sprinkles. He was in heaven.
My bestest had a surprise retirement party. We both had a lot of fun!
Being silly
He made me take this picture of a Batman skeleton that he made out of markers
Recipe fail #1 It’s supposed to be a strawberry cheesecake collagen smoothie. It just didn’t really taste that great. I still drank it but I def need to work on it.
Recipe fail #2 Protein egg & turkey muffins. They taste good but they look like shit. It’s eggs, cottage cheese, seasoned ground turkey, and spinach. Very healthy and very much need to work on this one too.
Read this book in about a week. So the first book is called Olive Kitteridge and it was winner of the Pulitzer Prize. I read it YEARS ago and I really, really liked it. It’s very different in that it is about a lady named Olive Kitteridge and she’s a very odd character. Sometimes likeable and sometimes not, until you get used to her. She tends to say whatever she wants and sometimes it’s not nice or appropriate. But she was a math teacher at a local school in Maine and the story goes back and forth between her story and the people in the same town who are all somehow connected to her. Every other chapter is about someone who knows her and you get a little back story on all these other people. So it’s just a really good read. So the second book is the one above- Olive, Again. And this one was an Oprah Book Club pick in 2019. It’s set a few years after the first one and again there’s stories about other people and how they are interconnected and some even with the first novel. You don’t have to read the 1st book to read the second but I highly recommend it. I actually wanted to re-read the first one but my library didn’t have it and I already started the second one and couldn’t stop. I’m going to re-read them again sometime, that’s just how good they are.

Found this on my phone. He’s been obsessed with Peppa Pig lately. It’s been years since he watched it and for whatever reason he’s back into it. I don’t mind Peppa. Even when we all go around talking in British accents.
And that’s it! Another wonderful week in the books!
Hope you have a great week ahead!
