About 2 years ago he became obsessed with cinnamon toast crunch. But he tried it without milk and didn’t really like it. They have other flavors and he tried those too. Well he wanted to try them again but with milk this time. And he made me take a picture of it.

Alright, this book. Such Kindness by Andre Dubus lll I read the first chapter and then put it down because it was just too much. Too much in the fact that it reminds me of way too many people I know, Or I should say that Mike knows. But I picked it up again and then I couldn’t stop reading it mainly because I just needed to know how it was going to end. It’s a very good book and the writing flows well and draws you in. The ending however was not quite what I was hoping/expecting? but it ended as well as it could. The book is about a guy that owns his own construction company and builds his own house for his family but then comes into financial hardships and then falls off of a roof and gets seriously injured. And addicted to pain pills. And then his wife leaves him and he winds up living in subsidized housing and it also about some of the people who live in the housing complex. Thankfully, the book starts after his addiction to pills. He was able to get off of them and now just drinks vodka to numb the pain. The book is about his struggles to make a better life for himself and the realizations that he is doing all of this stuff to himself and that he needs to stop blaming other people. It’s gritty, it’s real, and it’s riveting.

And that’s it! Another wonderful week in the books!

Hope you have a great week ahead!
