just a few things I’ve been up to lately……

I gave up my swiss chard because I still had a bunch from last week and I picked up the last of the peaches from the extras table. I also stopped at their farm stand and bought some leaf lettuce
This is Bob. Formerly known as purple collar kitty who no longer has a purple collar so he’s “Bob” for now. Very friendly and very cute. He makes himself at home and drinks lots of water but I’ve never seen him eat any food. Asher and Pete HATE him. He doesn’t seem to care.
I went to Ollies for their truckload Martha Stewart kitchen ware. I’ve been wanting a wok so I’m so excited that I finally found a Martha one. In case you weren’t aware, Macy’s no longer sells Martha products so I’ve no where to buy her stuff except online. I hate online shopping. I picked up a new muffin tin and 2 of those pretty blue bowls that I’ve used twice already this week for dinner. I love all things Martha. It’s the little things that make me happy and Martha is one of them.
On the last day of summer I was going to wear a pair of my summer wedges ( the ones on the right) and I didn’t even get them on my feet when they broke. So I put the other pair on and thankfully was at home when they broke a few hours later. Whomp whomp.
Jax said he wants to be a clown for Halloween (still going with the circus theme) and I went to a huge kids consignment sale and found him this clown costume for $2. He was happy, I was happy… (he doesn’t look happy but he was)

Using the red potatoes I got from the CSA, I made this crispy potato taco bowl with ground turkey. It was delish. Mikey loved it.
So I’ve been trying to find “clean” makeup for quite some time now. And it’s been kind of hard. I buy it based on the Yuka app ratings which unfortunately sometimes change without warning. It happened to me several times. I bought this Maybelline eyeliner that had a good rating and a good price because I could buy it at Walmart but then a few months later when I looked at the app it was rated poorly. It really pissed me off. Oh, and if you look at Sephora, they have “clean” symbols on certain makeup but now some of it changed to “planet aware clean” whatever that means. And if you ask a sales associate they will tell you that Clinique is clean but it is nowhere near a good rating on Yuka. So I went to Target the other day and bought these 4 items and I absolutely LOVE them all. The bareminerals concealer was from Ulta at Target but the other stuff was just in the regular makeup section. They all rate really well on Yuka (for now). I positively love the Honest mascara. It has a primer on one side and mascara on the other and my lashes have never looked so good. Like people pay for false lashes or lash “perms and tints” and this mascara looks like I paid for my lashes. I mean technically I did pay $19.99 but nowhere near what you pay to have them professionally done. The Honest cc cream covers nicely and the NYX mechanical eyeliner pencil stays on all day and doesn’t smudge. The only downfall is I always wear black eyeliner and I had to buy a dark brown because the black eyeline rated poorly. So anywho, that’s my makeup rant.
