Went to a local library’s used book sale and got a nice haul for 6 bucks- 12 books for Jax and 3 for me!

Sooo the heated cat house I bought for my sweet Pete…..Asher of course had to go in it because she’s like that. I actually did want her to go in it at least once so that Pete would smell her in it and know that he could go in it too. One evening he was in it waiting for me to feed him and Mike’s mom came pounding up the steps and scared the shit out of him and he ran out and I’m not sure if he’s been back in it or not. I have to kick Asher out of it quite frequently but she’s an inside cat for the winter now anyway.

He was playing Christmas with his stuffies and had me keep taking pictures of him. I don’t know why my tree looks so crooked in this pic

Buckeye by Patrick Ryan. This book wrecked me. The review at the top by Ann Napolitano- “I love this book with my entire heart” is exactly how I feel about it. It’s still with me days later. I had to put it on my Instagram stories because I just loved it so much. I think it is one of the best books I’ve ever read. So It’s about these 2 separate families just living their daily lives from about the 1940’s -1970’s. Something happens and their lives become intertwined and the book just goes from there. It’s just such a good story and the writing just flows and the political things that happened in that time period that kind of make you look back and think that history does in fact like to repeat itself. There are 2 parts in the book that made me cry. The 2nd one was toward the end of the book and it actually happened sooner than that but the way the author wrote it and didn’t put it till the end was brilliant I thought but quite literally made me bawl like a baby and I’m tearing up right now just typing about it. This book has lots of good reviews and was on the list for some awards and maybe I’m overreacting but I really just loved, loved, loved this book.
And that’s it! Another wonderful week in the books!
Hope you have a great week ahead!
