what up wednesdays

Just a few things I’ve been up to lately………
sunflowers
1. Our sunflowers are starting to bloom! I planted these waaaay late and just kind of threw some seeds around and now they are taller than me and getting ready to go into full bloom. I can’t wait! I love sunfowers.
2. Let’s talk TV- There’s a new show called Too Close to Home and I was talking to Elaine who turned 40 about it earlier today. We both agreed on several things- WTF is this show??? There’s some pretty bad acting going on. We like looking at the super hot brooding long haired guy. Heather Locklear looks soooo awful! OMG I will not get botox if this is what can happen.
We watched a portion of the VMA’s. I have no idea why. It’s been probably 20 years since either one of us has watched the VMA’s and now we remember why we haven’t.
Can I just mention a really bad reality TV show that I talked about a few months ago. In case we haven’t met, Hi my name is Lisa and I like really trashy reality TV. Like Married at First Sight. Well, there’s a new season and by the second episode I wanted to punch everybody in the face. Which is probably how I’m going to feel when I watch The Real Housewives of New York reunion.
3. Books- I need some good ones. I have over 40 to chose from but I’m in a reading slump. Oh oh I just saw that the book The Girl on a Train was made into a movie and is coming out October 7 and has a killer cast. My one problem when I read the book is that I couldn’t picture the main character in a good way. Do you know what I mean? It almost ruined the book for me because I didn’t like her and couldn’t picture her in a likeable way. Maybe that’s what the author wanted. BUT in the movie, Emily Blunt plays the main character and now I’m all excited to see the movie because I really like her so maybe it will change my perception of the character.
wine
4. We went to the Seven Springs wine festival over the weekend and had an absolute blast. This is not the first time we went but it was the first time on a Friday night and I think that’s one of the reasons why we had so much fun. There were a lot of people but nothing compared to a Saturday or Sunday. No waiting in lines forever to try samples from 30 different Pennsylvania wineries or to order any other food or drinks. And the parking was close by so you didn’t have to walk forever or ride a shuttlebus. Our absolute favorite wine was the one pictured in the middle above. It’s called Raven’s Roast from Seven Mountain’s Wine Cellars. It’s a red wine with natural coffee flavors and 20.2% alcohol. It is delicious. It’s like a port and is just the most perfect sipping wine. Mikey and I are going to try and save it for this winter and for a special occasion. Who am I kidding. We’ll probably break it out over Labor Day weekend and get drunk while we catch up on a few episodes of Ray Donovan and Animal Kingdom.
5. Speaking of Labor Day weekend- Any fun plans?????
