I made us a smoothie instead of a protein shake for those of us who do not like to use protein powder. I didn’t want you to feel left out. Or to stop reading my blog. All 3 of you. Haha!
This smoothie is great for breakfast, as a post workout, or as a snack. Or as a recovery drink if you celebrated way too much for St. Patrick’s Day with way too many of these(not me, I swear). You can very well make this into a protein shake by using vanilla protein powder for the greek yogurt. The same thing goes for any of my other protein shakes I’ve posted before. Like here and here. Substitute plain greek yogurt for vanilla protein powder. And regular cocoa works as a substitute for chocolate protein powder. And plain greek yogurt does have a good bit of protein per serving so it’s still a win win.
Blueberry banana smoothie
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup almond milk (I use original flavor)
Place all ingredients in a blender with 1 cup of ice. Blend well.
Garnish with a few blueberries and some cute straws (optional).
So refreshing and healthy. And filling too!
