The golden cadillac is the perfect after dinner drink. It has a chocolatey, slightly herbal taste that is really quite delicious.
I found this recipe in The Playboy Bartender’s Guide by Thomas Mario. It’s called a gold cadillac in the book but when I searched it online it’s called a golden cadillac. The recipe I found in the book calls for the drink to be blended in a blender but most of the other recipes serve it chilled or over ice.
Ingredients for golden cadillac
I was so intrigued by the ingredients for this drink-
Galliano
Creme de cacao
heavy cream
crushed ice
It’s the Galliano that has me stumped because Galliano is made up of over 30 herbs and spices and has an anise flavor to it and I am not a fan of anise. It also has a sweet vanilla flavor that takes away some of the licorice flavor. So combine it with the creme de cacao and heavy cream and this drink is so, so good!
If you buy a bottle of Galliano, you can also try this freddy fudpucker.
Recipe
First, blend all ingredients plus 1/2 cup crushed ice at low speed for 10-15 seconds. Pour into a pre chilled champagne glass. Or you can omit the crushed ice and blender and fill a cocktail shaker with the ingredients and regular ice. Shake well and strain into a pre chilled cocktail glass.
