This numero uno cocktail combines 2 of my favorite ingredients- tequila and amaretto- with milk and sprinkled with cinnamon. It’s a perfect sipping cocktail that I had a hard time not chugging.
This recipe is another one I found in the Playboy Bartender’s Guide by Thomas Mario. When I looked up this drink online I only found 1 other recipe that was the same. Plus when you look up “numero uno cocktail” it just wanted to give me a list of the most popular drinks. Like “this is the number 1 cocktail ordered at a bar.” So I’m not sure of the history of this drink or any other information about the origins of it’s name. All I know is that’s it’s delicious! And it could very well become my “numero uno” cocktail.
Any type of milk will work in this cocktail. The original recipe call for heavy cream. I prefer almond milk original. Plus I like that the almond milk has a slightly “nutty” taste that compliments the amaretto.
And the little sprinkling of cinnamon on top just completes the drink. It reminds me of the snowplow cocktail that I made here. It’s a spiked hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon. Ironically, this drink also came from the Playboy Bartender’s guide.

To health, wealth, and happiness! Cheers!
