Nutty Irishman

This might just look like a cup of coffee with cream but don’t let it fool you. This is a delicious cup of smack you in the face spiked coffee that may have you feeling a little bit “nutty” after drinking it.

I love coffee with Bailey’s. Or any irish cream liqueur. Because if I’m being honest here, Bailey’s ain’t cheap and I am, so I usually buy the lower priced Irish creams.

But there’s not just irish cream in this coffee. There’s Frangelico and irish whiskey. Hence the name “nutty irishman”. Frangelico is a hazelnut liqueur. So the nutty from the hazelnut liqueur and the irishman from the irish cream and irish whiskey= nutty irishman. A drink name that actually makes sense. Not like some drink names like “sex on the beach.” Like how does combining vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry juice, and orange juice make you think of sex on the beach???? I don’t get it sometimes. It’s a cool name and all but it just doesn’t make any sense.

A typical nutty irishman cocktail doesn’t usually include coffee but alot of people will add coffee and still call it a nutty irishman. I chose to add the coffee because

1. as I stated above- I love coffee with irish cream (plus more)
2. it’s winter here right now and nothing sounds better than a cup of hot spiked coffee
3. It’s my blog and I’ll do what I want to (haha)

Nutty Irishman

(serves 1)

1 oz irish cream

1 oz hazelnut liqueur

1 oz irish whiskey

hot coffee

Place 1st 3 ingredients in a coffee mug and top with coffee.
