The classic cocktail flavored with a hint of raspberry from Chambord makes this raspberry long island iced tea so very tasty and even more potent.
A long island iced tea was my very first cocktail post ever. You can see it here. Bad photography and lighting and all. I always thought of redoing this post and updating the pics but that’s not being true to myself and seeing the progress I’ve made and how far I’ve come in photography and blogging. That’s not to say that I still won’t update some of the posts I’ve done before, but I’m not going to do that to my very first post. I’ll just add a flavor and create a new post like this one.
Ingredients for a raspberry long island iced tea
A typical long island iced tea consists of 5 clear liquors- vodka, rum, tequila, triple sec, and gin- plus sour mix and cola. However, some recipes use orange juice instead of sour mix. In this recipe, I use homemade sour mix for it’s fresh flavor. As stated above, to make this a raspberry long island, I used chambord which has a very sweet, rich taste of black raspberry and cognac. It’s a very subtle taste when combined with all of the other ingredients.
In case you live under a rock, a long island iced tea is very strong, Very potent. It’s 1 ounce each of the liquors. Unless you have an extra large glass, which isn’t a bad idea, the drink is ALL alcohol. Six shots if you include the chambord which I of course did in this recipe. Plus just a hint of sour mix and top it off with cola. Please drink responsibly! The following recipe serves 1 and I highly recommend only drinking 1 of these.
