The crisp, slightly floral flavor of elderflower liqueur combined with the sweet, tart flavor of pomegranate juice and topped off with champagne makes this valentine sparkler a delicious and pretty drink for your Valentine (or yourself).
I hear bows are really popular right now. So I couldn’t wait to tie a bow around one of my drinks and I thought this valentine sparkler would be the perfect one. Elderflower is also having a moment lately. Pinterest tells me these things. Which is funny because my elderflower old fashioned is having a little bit of a trending moment on my Pinterest. I also have a blood orange elderflower cocktail that’s really tasty too. So if you decide to try out this valentine sparkler, I have some more recipes that uses elderflower liqueur so that you can get more bang for your buck when you buy a bottle. I’ve been trying to do that lately in my blog posts. Like sometimes the drink looks really good but then you think, I have to spend all that money for 1 ounce of said liquor? Or maybe 2 or 3 ounces depending if you have more than one drink or are having one with friends too. But still, shits like so expensive these days so I want to give you a few options. It’s frugal it’s my happy hour. New year. New me. HA!
Ingredients for valentine sparkler
Elderflower liqueur
Pomegranate juice- For an extra kick you could also use pomegranate liqueur or pomegranate vodka. You could also substitute cranberry juice instead.
Champagne- or prosecco if you prefer
Pomegranate arils- totally optional. I just did it for the pictures because I had leftover arils from a salad I made. You can buy just the arils (but that shits expensive too) or you can buy a pomegranate and try to scrape out the seeds. Neither is necessary for this drink. Only if you’re trying to be fancy. At which point just tie a bow around your glass and save some money. See that, I’m being frugal again.
To health, wealth, and happiness! Cheers!
