This smooth and creamy vanilla matcha protein smoothie is a delicious, healthy treat great for post workout or anytime of the day.
Every afternoon I drink an iced matcha with vanilla creamer and flax seeds. The ground flax seeds don’t really blend well so the first few sips are kind of full of the flaxseeds but it’s really tasty and it gives me a little kick of caffeine to get through the rest of the day. I sometimes add collagen to the mix as well not only for the benefits of collagen but for the protein too. So then I got to thinking, and because I ran out of collagen, what about using vanilla protein powder? So I did. And the mixture definitely needs blended in a blender. I also added a piece of a frozen banana to give it that smoothie texture.
Ingredients for vanilla matcha protein smoothie
1 packet of matcha (I use Jade Leaf matcha that comes in a 1G packet 0.04oz packet)
1/2 of a frozen banana
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use a plant based one)
1 cup coconut milk or milk of your choice
ground flax seeds
ice
Recipe
First, place all ingredients in a blender. Second, blend until smooth. Depending on the milk you use, you may need to add more milk or even a bit of water. I used original coconut milk from Aldi and my smoothie was very thick. Third, pour into a glass and serve.
