just a few things I’ve been up to lately….
Snow day fun! It was a Flexible Instructional Day for school which was his first one to experience. He just had to complete a few worksheets and then follow along on a you tube video for gym class. Then he played outside for awhile.
We also baked a couple of batches of Valentine M&M cookies.
This was the first batch using butter from Aldi. This is how I prefer my cookies.
The second batch used butter from Giant Eagle (local grocery chain). These cookies baked up puffier. I like the flatter ones above. They are chewier. I think it’s weird that the butter makes a difference. I noticed this a few months ago when I bought butter from Walmart too. The cookies turned out differently.
Drawing and drinking hot chocolate after playing in the snow. In case you didn’t notice, my kid is always running around in his underwear. It makes it very difficult to take his picture doing things. But it doesn’t matter how cold out it is, he never wants to wear clothes anymore. And it was quite frigid around here for over a week. We keep our house fairly warm (really warm actually compared to most people) but I still walk around my house in layered shirts and wooly, fuzzy socks. But he still runs around in underwear.
He loves to make board games. This is his version of Candyland. He took this picture. I love his little feet in the pic.
He even made/drew the box for the game.
He took this pic of the Candyland game at my parents house. (notice the foot in the pic). He really wants his own version of this game but it’s considered “vintage” and it’s not cheap anywhere online. I might have to try some yard/estate sales to get this version(1978) cheap.
It’s the Lego alpine lodge. He asked for this for christmas kind of late and by the time I looked for it, it was on back order. So I ordered it a few days after xmas and it said backordered for 60 days. I told him it wouldn’t come until Easter but he said ok he still wanted it. 2 weeks later, they shipped it. I love putting Lego’s together. I’m not sure who I bought this more for me or him.
And that’s it! Another wonderful week in the books!
Hope you have a great week ahead!
