just a few things I’ve been up to lately……
Making m&m cookies and being silly
I could eat that whole bowl
YUM!
I found these adorable mugs at Marshall’s/Homegoods
Found the extra large ice cub tray (coming to a cocktail on the blog soon) at Marshall’s/Homegoods and these Martha Stewart knives on clearance for $5.98 at Big Lots!
We went to the movies and saw Migration. It was really cute. Jackson was completely enthralled with the previews and his giant bag of popcorn.
Oh this book. It’s an Oprah book club pick from 2023. Oprah’s book club never steers me wrong. Now I wouldn’t say that this is one of my favorites, but it was really good. I saw someone online say that they were going to read this book because so many people recommended it but she was reading it to take a break from fantasy fiction books and she was looking for something light. Well she didn’t end up reading it because she thought all of the characters were unlikeable. First, this is not a light read. It’s an homage to the book Little Women. Which I realized I’ve never read. Second, I can see why perhaps the characters were unlikeable but only on the surface kind of way. That’s what makes the book so good. Why these characters do what they do. And the generational trauma that these thoughts and actions stem from. I didn’t want to put it down at times because I needed to know how this would all turn out. And it turns out sad! But in the best way possible if that’s possible. I cried. But the book stayed with me for a few days after I finished it and that to me is the makings of a really good book.
Finally go a hold of this little stinker. He’s so fast and hides in the tubes so I can’t catch him.
And that’s it! Another fantastic week in the books!
Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
