just a few things I’ve been up to lately…..
This is basically a photo dump from our weekend vacation at Lake Erie. Presque Isle Lake Erie to be exact. Except for our air bnb which was in Lake City
I have a drinking game for you- take a drink or shot every time I say air bnb
Ready? Go! (that’s 2 drinks already)
This is at Sara’s restaurant a very popular restaurant at the gateway to Presque Isle State Park.
Also at Sara’s
Jackson is drinking water but pretending to drink Coca-Cola. I tell him he can’t have Coca-Cola until he’s 16 years old.
At a rest stop on the way there (Sheetz) he asked for a glazed donut. He took 2 bites and said he didn’t like it. He is VERY partial to Dunkin Donuts glazed donuts.
So then he asked for an ice cream cone. He took about 5 licks and said it was “too cold.”
So many photo-ops at Sara’s. And the food is really good too.
After we ate we rode bikes around Presque Isle state park. It is so beautiful to ride around. Some parts you’re in a wooded area and there’s signs for the different kinds of wildlife and even a sign for turtle crossing. Then there’s another part where your riding along the beach.
My favorite part!
This was our Air bnb. It was very cute and cozy. Maybe a little too cozy for 4 adults and a rambunctious 4 year old but it was really nice.
The place had a nice little deck and yard in the back that overlooked Lake Erie. It’s located on a bluff and was called Eagle View because of the bald eagles that live on the bluff. While we were eating on the deck there was a bald eagle that landed in a tree right above us. It was awesome and huge. I was unable to get a picture of it.
Jackson trying to climb a very large tree that the deck was built around.
Afternoon view from our air bnb
Sunset from our air bnb
Beach day!
It was beautiful weather. The lake water was a little chilly but you just had to get used to it for a little bit.
He loved playing in the sand the most.
He pretended he couldn’t wait to make smores but barely took a bite. All he wanted was the Hershey bar.
Taking one last look at the view with momma before we left.
We stopped at a farmer’s market on the way home about 10 minutes from our air bnb. They had black raspberries which are my absolute favorite fruit in the world and remind me of my childhood every time I eat them. They also had the most delicious strawberries, blueberries, and cherries. There was a local farmers market near me that closed last year and I miss it SOOO much.
Black raspberry tarts. This picture is of my childhood. Recipe via my mother. I made a batch of these a few weeks ago and was devastated when they didn’t turn out right. This batch however was perfection.
The day after we returned from vacation it rained and rained and rained. So what else is there to do but….
Jump in muddy puddles!!
Another wonderful week in the books!!
Hope you have a fantastic week ahead!
If you played my drinking game, I said it 6 times! I feel like I typed it more than that but if you played my game , please don’t drink and drive.
Loved the vacation pictures!
Thank You!!
