Just a few things I’ve been up to lately…..
- When life hands you lemons, drink a shandy!! and that’s exactly what me and my bestest did a few days ago when we got some devastating news at work. And of course everyone you tell says all the positive things like “everything happens for a reason” and “when one door closes, another one opens” and blah, blah, blah. Sometimes you just need to scream FUCK!!!! and drink some beer. And after 2 very tall beers and wallowing in our misery, we saw a double rainbow and said a pot of gold for you and a pot of gold for me! You know, drunk people talk.
Then there’s this little guy:
- He’s our outside cat. We call him Nero. We once heard his name might be Socks. Nero is so much cooler. We’re not sure if he has a home anymore. My boyfriend said Nero’s been coming around for years. Like 10. We don’t see him all winter and as soon as the weather gets nice he comes to visit. This past summer he came to visit and pretty much hasn’t left. We feed him everyday and find him sleeping on our porch almost everynight. Lately though, we think he’s sick and it’s just so sad. We’re not sure if we should take him to a vet because he’s not ours and we still don’t know if he has a home. Nero is just one of the coolest cat dudes I’ve ever met and if he really is sick and doesn’t make it ,we will be terribly heartbroken.
So what else…
- We went swimming a few times this summer and every time I put on coppertone sunscreen, it makes me want a candle in that scent so I can smell summer 24/7.
- I made salted caramel pretzel brownies and took them to work to celebrate Martha Stewart’s birthday but that was the day of devastating news so nobody really felt like celebrating. Of course my coworkers still ate them because they are heavenly but it became more of a drown our sorrows in chocolatey gooey goodness. The recipe came from pinterest.
